Highlights
Heather Ramsdell is an editor obsessed with improving everyday acts of cooking and eating. Before joining the Spruce in 2019, she directed culinary content for Food Network's digital kitchen, worked as a creative director at Whole Foods Market and launched the FreshDirect website. Additionally, she has written books and articles about food and design.
Throughout her years in the food industry, she has worked as an editor, cook, writer, recipe developer, photographer, and video producer.
She is a trained cook, yet most enthusiastically embraces her identity as a food nerd, with a special love of using kitchen tools for things they were not meant to do, debunking myths, and demystifying ingredients. She hopes never to run out of things to learn, eat, and share.
Heather earned a B.F.A from The Cooper Union, and an M.A. from City College. She went to school at La Varenne in Burgundy, France.
