Yukgaejang (Spicy Beef Soup)

Ingredients

  • 300 g of sliced beef
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 red pepper
  • 2 teaspoons of paprika powder
  • 2 teaspoons of red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 8 cups of broth

Instructions

  1. First, cut the carrots, peppers, and meat into thin strips.
  2. Add the vegetable oil to the pot and heat it. Then add the chopped onion and garlic and sauté until they turn pink.
  3. Add the meat slices and sauté until lightly browned.
  4. Stir in the paprika powder, red pepper flakes, and salt.
  5. Then add the chopped carrots and green and red peppers and sauté for a few minutes.
  6. Then add soy sauce, sesame oil, and honey, respectively.
  7. Add broth or hot water and cook until it boils.
  8. When the soup starts to boil, turn the heat to low and let it continue to boil for another 20 minutes.
  9. When all the ingredients are cooked, ladle the soup into bowls and serve. Enjoy your meal.
