We are presenting the Syrniki recipe, which is served both as breakfast and dessert in Russian cuisine. This recipe resembles pancakes. Usually served with fruits, marmalades, and fruity sauces, Syrniki is enriched with unsalted curd cheese. However, ricotta cheese will also work well. Ingredients

  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 6 tbsp. curd cheese (unsalted)
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 packet of vanillin
  • 5–6 tbsp. oil

For the top:

  • Berries
  • Red berries

Instructions

  1. First of all, put the curd cheese in a bowl. Mash the cheese well with a mixer or fork.
  2. Then add granulated sugar, eggs, baking powder, baking soda, and vanillin and mix.
  3. Add 3/4 of the flour to the mixture and continue mixing.
  4. Transfer the remaining flour to a large bowl. Scoop out small pieces of the cheese dough with the help of a spoon.
  5. Transfer the pieces one by one to the bowl with only flour. Shape the dough by flouring it with your hands.
  6. Do this until all the dough is prepared.
  7. Add oil to the skillet and heat it slightly. When the oil starts to get hot, fry the dough in front and back.
  8. Make sure that the edges of the dough are also cooked during frying.
  9. You can serve the prepared Syrnikis with fruits and sauces. Bon appetit!

  • The prepared cheese dough will have a sticky consistency.
  • You can use a spoon or ice cream spoon to easily pull the dough apart.
  • You can give the dough the shape you want.
  • After frying the dough, keep it on a paper towel to drain the excess oil.
  • You can also serve the Syrnikis you have prepared by spreading chocolate or honey.
