Hummus, one of the most controversial flavors of the Middle East, has an important place in Turkish, Lebanese, and Greek cuisines. We enriched this appetizer, whose main ingredients are tahini and chickpeas, this time with potatoes and nutmeg. If the ingredients are ready, we can move on to the potato hummus recipe, which doubles its flavor with nutmeg.

Potato Hummus

Ingredients

  • 1 kg potato
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg (grated)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Half a cup of tahini
  • 2 tablespoons of hot water
  • Half a cup of lemon juice
  • 2 cloves of garlic


For the top

  • 1 teaspoon each of red pepper powder, cumin, and sumac
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 5 sprigs of parsley (chopped)
Potato Hummus

Instructions

  1. Wash and boil the potatoes, then peel and mash them.
  2. Mix tahini, two tablespoons of hot water, and lemon juice in a bowl.
  3. Add the tahini mixture, crushed garlic, salt, and grated nutmeg to the mashed potatoes. Mix again, and mash well. Spread the spiced mashed potatoes on a serving plate.
  4. For the topping, melt the butter and olive oil in a pan and heat. Pour it over the mashed potatoes.
  5. Sprinkle the red pepper powder, cumin, and sumac. Finally, sprinkle with the chopped parsley and serve.
