Cauliflower With Bechamel Sauce

Ingredients

  • 5 cups of hot water
  • 1 medium cauliflower
  • 1 tablespoon of flour

For the bechamel sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon of flour
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1.5 cups of cold milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For the topping:

  • A small bunch of dill
  • 100 grams of grated cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Cut the roots of the cauliflowers and separate them into pieces.
  2. After washing the cauliflowers with plenty of water, drain the water.
  3. Put boiling water in a deep pot.
  4. Add the flour and cauliflower to the water, and cook for 10 minutes.
  5. For the bechamel sauce, melt the butter in a small pan. Add flour and roast for 2–3 minutes.
  6. Slowly add cold milk to the mixture and whisk to avoid lumps.
  7. Add salt, nutmeg, and black pepper, and mix until the béchamel sauce thickens.
  8. Drain the boiled cauliflowers with a colander and place them in a heat-resistant baking dish or tray.
  9. After spreading the cauliflower in the bowl, pour the béchamel sauce over it.
  10. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese over the sauce. Set the oven to 180 degrees and bake for about 15 minutes.
  11. You can serve the cauliflower out of the oven by garnishing it with dill. Enjoy!
