Haydari, whose main ingredients are yogurt, garlic, and mint, is one of the most delicious appetizers. It is served cold. It is irreplaceable with meat, fish, and vegetable dishes. Although it is similar to tzatziki with its ingredients, the biggest differences are that there is no cucumber in haydari and its consistency is much darker than tzatziki. If your ingredients are ready, we can move on to the details of how to make the original haydari.

  Expert Tips
  • If the consistency of the strained yogurt you bought is not solid enough, strain it again with a clean muslin cloth.
  • You can use regular yogurt instead of strained yogurt, and you can also apply the straining process to regular yogurt.
  • If you don't want to use butter, you can crush about 70–80 g of feta cheese.
  • If you cannot find strained yogurt, you can keep the yogurt in a strainer and serve it.
