  1. Soak the beans in water overnight. After 12 hours, drain and boil for 15 minutes. Drain and wash the beans, and set aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a pot. Put the meat in the pot and fry it in the oil for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the finely chopped onion and cook for 5 minutes, or until the onion is soft.
  3. Add the tomatoes and cook for 1 minute, stirring with a wooden spoon. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Add the drained beans, pour in 8 cups of water, and bring to a boil.
  5. Cover the pan and simmer over low heat for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the meat and beans are cooked.
  6. Add the potatoes, prunes, and dry mint, and cook until the potatoes are cooked. Serve. Enjoy your meal.
