  1. First, wash the Chinese lettuce well and cut it into quarters. Then cut these leaves into large pieces.
  2. Then salt the lettuce leaves and let them rest for 30 minutes.
  3. Cut the carrots and radishes into thin, long pieces. Finely chop the leek and onion.
  4. After rinsing the lettuce with plenty of water, put it in a bowl with the chopped vegetables.
  5. For rice porridge (congee), add 2 tablespoons of rice flour, 2 cups of water, and 2 tablespoons of sugar.
  6. Boil it on the stove until it is cooked. Add 2 tablespoons of red pepper flakes to the boiling rice porridge.
  7. Put the garlic, onion, and ginger through a food processor. Then add it to the rice porridge.
  8. Add 2 teaspoons of salt to the rice porridge and mix, then set aside to cool.
  9. At this stage, you can optionally add fish sauce.
  10. Add the chopped vegetables to the rice porridge and mix.
  11. Fill the mixture into the jar and close the lid. You can consume it after storing it in a cool place for one week. Enjoy your meal.
  Expert Tips
  • Always use fresh vegetables in the recipe. Cut off the rotten parts.
  • If you like spicy food, you can add 4 tablespoons of red pepper flakes instead of 2 tablespoons.
  • Do not forget to sanitize the jars you will use with hot water.
